TNOutdoors9 Tests G2 Research R.I.P. Ammo

TNOutdoors9 admits to being late to the party in reviewing the G2 Research RIP Ammo and we are even later in sharing his review.  However, since he has such a large Youtube following and does such quality reviews we figured it was worth sharing.  For the test, he shoots the 9mm RIP through a Glock 19.

Watch the video below to see how to ammo performs.  For those of you who would rather not watch the video, here are some of his key findings:

Velocity: At 10 feet from the end of the 4" barrel in his Glock 19, the 9mm RIP averaged 1329 feet per second which is a little higher than the velocity advertised by G2 Research.  The RIP also had notably less recoil and muzzle flash than is typical for 9mm ammo.

Bare Gel: Just like all the other gel tests, the RIP split apart making a handful of separate wound channels that penetrated to around 5 inches while the base continued on to about 14 inches.

Denim Covered Gel:  Similar results to the bare gel with the penetration of both the trocars and base drawn back by about an inch and a half.  The RIP hollow point didn't clog up and broke apart like it is designed to.

Overall:  The RIP performed as advertised.  Does TNOutdoors9 now carry the ammo?  Check out the last two minutes of the video, he gives a good explanation on how he chooses his carry ammo.
