Liberty Civil Defense Ammo: All The Specifics
Here is a great video that tests each of the five most common calibers of Liberty's Civil Defense Ammunition; .380 Auto, 9mm Luger, .40 S&W, .45 ACP and .223 Remington.
OVOMagazine put together this video to give and overview and demonstrate how the different calibers of this ammunition performs in a terms of velocity, accuracy, recoil and terminal effect in gel. They also speak in depth about the rounds' casings, primers, bullets and powder. Needless to say, this is a pretty comprehensive review.
To test the ammunition, OVOMagazine used a Ruger LCP .380, a Springfield XD 9mm, a Springfield XDM .40 S&W, Springfield XD Tactical .45 ACP, a Savage Model 25 Varminter .223, and a Windham Weaponry CDI .223.
All of the rounds group well on targets placed at 10 yards for the handguns and 75 yards for the rifles. All of the rifle rounds grouped smaller than half an inch and the all the pistol rounds (with the exception of the 9mm Luger) group at less than 1 inch.
I won't spoil how the ammo performed in both the recoil tests and the ballistics gel but I will say that it doesn't disappoint. Watch the video to see the full review.
